Social Responsibility
Environmental Protection
As an agricultural organization, we understand the importance of environmental protection and are intimately familiar with this endeavor. We protect the environment by complying with standards and regulations, supporting and encouraging projects and startups, and primarily through our cultivators and farmers, who ensure the continued existence of Central Israel’s “green lung.” Granot endeavors to directly reduce carbon emissions in the framework of the organization’s activities, and as a service to companies and organizations all over the world.
Community Outreach
Granot corporations and subsidiaries regularly participate in voluntary and community outreach work. The projects we support include Leket Israel and Kruvit, the allocation of our logistics center for towns and settlements in Southern Israel, the Kibbutz Movement, boarding schools, educational facilities and more. These activities reinforce the relationship between the organization and rural Israel as a whole, but above all else, it brings people closer and adds a deeper meaning to our work.
Ecological Greenhouse
One of the most important aspects of Granot’s social responsibility endeavors is its long-term support for the “Ecological Greenhouse” in Ein Shemer. The Greenhouse is a house of growth that helps raise the next generation of farmers and develop Israel’s agricultural industry. Our involvement encompasses a variety of activities, and we actively participate in formulating the Greenhouse’s strategies and annual work plans.
The purpose of this endeavor is to enable curricula and extracurricular activities to continue and tailor them to a variety of target audiences.

Owner Relations

Committees, Management
and Farmstead Committee

Granot’s committees and managements consist of 80 representatives of kibbutzes that are members of the organization. Granot Ltd., Granot Factories, Sivan, Maygar and Granot Transportation have the same management. Granot Plantations and Ambar has a separate management each. Ambar's management includes members from Mishkei Hadarom Mishkei Hanegev. Granot Committees: Audit Committee, Finance Committee, Public Payroll Committee, Appointments Committee. Each Committee member serves for 5 years, and some members are replaced every year so as to achieve continuity and to ensure a constant supply of fresh ideas. Only Kibbutz / Moshav members can serve on these committees.

Cooperatives Models

Granot is a cooperative of cooperatives. As such, we seek business solutions that would enable us to support our members in the framework of cooperative models. For example, we plant avocado orchards in collaboration with our Kibbutzes that are interested in doing so. The Kibbutz provides water and land, and Granot provides the necessary capital, seedlings and know-how. After an agreement terminates, ownership of the orchard returns to the kibbutz. Markolbo also operates under a partnership model: Granot makes the necessary investment, and after that investment is recovered, the profits are equally shared with the farm.

Courses, Training
and Seminars

Conference rooms and halls at Granot are used by the corporations in their operating activities. They host management meetings, assemblies, seminars and conferences. Other organizations outside of Granot Group also use these rooms and halls either for private purposes or in the framework of activities pursued by our kibbutzes members. Among these organizations are Brit Pikuach, the Kibbutz Movement and more.

Colleagues Forum

Community managers at Granot Cooperative members have been regularly holding monthly meetings for the past 15 years that deal with their current affairs. They share their success stories and challenges and work together to find new solutions and ideas for optimal functioning and enrichment.

A forum for the economic directors of Granot farms, attended by chairpersons, finance managers, treasurers from farm centers, and more, who enjoy expert lectures on a range of subjects and discuss key administrative issues.

As part of maintaining the relationships between the organization and its member farms, kibbutz administrations visit the complex regularly. Additionally, partners and government officials from Israel and abroad visit to learn about Granot from up close.
